Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Tracy public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
City Election Campaign Fundraising
Money is pouring into Tracy’s city races, with council candidate Jass Sangha and Mayor Dan Arriola leading fundraising ahead of the Nov. 3 election. Developer and business PACs are writing big checks, and that matters because donors can shape who City Hall listens to after the votes are counted.
Police Communications Funding
Tracy just scored $2 million in state cash to upgrade its police radios and 911 dispatch gear. This means our local cops and first responders will finally be able to talk smoothly with regional crews when an emergency hits.
Civic Art Program Implementation for TRACK and El Pescadero Park
The council approved final designs and budget allocations for four public art installations at the Tracy Recreation Activity Center and El Pescadero Park using 1% of the construction budget.
Purchasing Ordinance Modernization & Local Hiring
The city updated its contracting rules to raise spending limits for staff and the city manager to keep up with inflation and added local hiring preferences for public works projects.
